Powerful questions to DEBUNK the Universal Sovreignty issue
by Black Man inok, we've had some great posts about the universal sovreignty issue over the years.
i'd like to have this post be about powerful common-sense questions that get right to the core of unraveling it for the nonsense it is.
when i talk to jw relatives, i'm sticking with the strategy of just posing questions instead of arguing with them.

Satan made the claim. Job PROVED it false. Satan made a liar in fronts of ENTIRE SPIRITUAL REALM. (JW usually agrees)
So if the issued was settled, why allow thousands of years to go by, to keep proving same issue? If Job provided answer, and Jehovah wanted to enforce it, ok, allow it to extend 1000 years maybe. So the issue was resolved by MANY faithful Israelites. Satan looks like a dummy.
So, would a loving God truly allow the extent of human suffering, holocausts, genocides, child rape, etc, over 4000 more years to prove a point? One that has already been proven at that?

During my first few years at BK, I spent a significant amount of time at JCAH. Anyone else?
I am really trying to make at least one connection with someone I know personally. lol. I tried the Bethel thread which made some connections but I would like to see if anyone I know personally.
I am/was VERY good friends with Blackamore, Allain, Ricketts (dfd), Rutledge, Sprague, Delaquilla, and many others who worked there frequently.

Phrase I hate "Keep in mind how it is viewed in community"
by MC RubberMallet inwhenever the society could not condemn something directly, that phrase was their loophole.
because god's name is most important.
and if one person may be stumbled, don't do it.. hypocrites!.

rip van winkle - Not yet, sending this list would be going against Jehovah's direction.
MrFreeze - yes, people don't think seeing a 6year old in a suit is cute as JW's think every saturday and sunday morning, the times when children (and adults) need to be recouping
Finkelstein - You expressed my thoughts clearer than I did... Many Jw's then create a false comparison based on these factors, and feel JW's are the only ones living wholesome and pure
WT Wizard - I hope lurkers will read that because its unfortunately too true...

The conditions with and periods the Bible was copied makes you think hmmm.... was it repressing thought to keep people in line?

Any restrictions, reproof, marking, etc means you can't do anything, except get more recruits
by MC RubberMallet ini hated that, no matter what restrictions, you still have to preach, the very thing witnesses hate..

WT Wizard - Lol! I agree.
DOC - Yea, its dumb. But knocking on strangers door knowing their life is at stake is a trustworthy assignment...
freydo - they just don't get it...
respectful_observer - how backwards is that?! I would think the fun part of restrictions is field service is restricted also
blues - Privilege? lol. As a kid I was embarrased to even walk to the meetings with my suit, now knock on your door? I grew out of it, but still...
sir82 - Exactly! Anything that benefits the SOCIETY, does not get restricted (more recruits, more money, more workers, more followers, etc.) Everything else gets the hatchet, even social events!

Not Sure What I Believe In Anymore
by nuthouse escapee ininside my head is a tangled ball of wool when it comes to what i believe.
i have days where i believe in a creator and other days when i don't.
then there are times when i refer to this as believing in 'something' but what exactly this something is, i have no idea.

nuthouse escapee - I am with you 100 percent. I just keep learning... But I try not to become obsessed. We still have to live life and enjoy whatever we can.

Hypocrites!
Things that people in the community hates:
1) Knockin on their door
2) Waking them up
3) Talking to them about your beliefs
4) Allowing the symbol of life to be more important than life itself, or allowing death
5) Making an issue because someone is happy to be alive one more year!
6) Demonizing everything
7) Tell them God will solve all problems by ending wickedness (aka killing all non-Jw's because they are all wicked)
8) Telling them no matter what they believe, it is wrong, because it does not coincide with your changing beliefs
9) Assuming (male and female cannot be roommates ride in a car, be in a room, etc without sex immediately ensuing). I will digress on the living together one though.
10) Wearing suits in the summer
11) Making men shave beards and controlling dress codes for women
The list doesn't stop!
These all reflect bad on Witnesses, ESPECIALLY with no sound scriptural backing. So why not eliminate these rules, since they assist in making Jehovah, Bible, and the org look bad?!
